  • A commitment to preparing children and young people for participation
  • Promoting acceptance and understanding of others
  • Development of appropriate values and beliefs

  • Encourage children and young people to participate in a wide range of activities appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Assist children and young people in their personal and social development to encourage growth in self-esteem, confidence, and help them learn from their experiences.
  • Help children and young people participate in the life of the unit/group to express their views and play an active part in the planning and management of their activities.
  • Help children and young people to gain a greater understanding and respect for diversity by engaging in programmes that reflect the principles of equality, diversity, and interdependence.
  • always Promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people, especially the disadvantaged and to unearth the talents and skills of individuals for self-development.

Three young Gambian friends with the passion to make a difference in the lives of children and young people in The Gambia started a charity. That was the birth of Spring of Life Association Gambia (SOLAG).

Spring of Life Association Gambia (SOLAG) was officially registered as a charity in The Gambia. (Charity no: 2014/C546)

A run-down building was rented and transformed into a school and the result was, Spring of Life School in Sinchu Alagie, The Gambia. The school started with six children and one teacher.

Onside Soccer Gambia, a project aimed at mentoring young people through sports started with a few kids and today over 80 young people benefit.

Spring of Life School grew to over 50 children. The rapid growth is attributed to the quality and affordability of education at the school.

Spring of Life School held its first-ever graduation ceremony for the children graduating from our nursery school.

A makeshift classroom was built to aid the transition into primary school cycle as well as to meet the increasing demand for enrolment.

In 2015, the number of children at Spring of Life School was 6 but today, that number is 160. Due to this growth, another classroom extension was built.

What Our Donors Over the World Are Saying

Hello! My name is Kenneh Bah and I live in Sinchu Alagie. I am a parent of one of students at Spring of Life School. I am very impressed and happy with the school because I see the help you giving to parents and students within the community of Sinchu Alagie. You are supporting families who cannot afford to pay for their children to attend school. Previously, there weren't many children attending school in this area due to financial problems but now many children are in school thanks to the support Spring of Life Association Gambia is offering. Personally, I wasn't able to send my children to school due to financial difficulties but now my children are all able to go to school here at Spring of Life School because of the sponsorship they benefit from. Thank you so much for what you are for me, my children and many other families in this community. I am very happy!

They also have sponsors who are supporting with school fees. I cannot speak English properly but because of this school, I am improving by just coming here. The school is helping many children with sponsorship. We are thanking the sponsors and I am very very happy because my children are learning well. When they learn at the school they come home and help me to improve my English. Thank you very much!
