AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Aims
The aims of this organisation are:
- To play a quota in national development through the provision and support of educational and sporting activities through service delivery and advocacy. This will be supported by the following three underlining principles:
- A commitment to preparing children and young people for participation
- Promoting acceptance and understanding of others
- Development of appropriate values and beliefs
Objectives
- Encourage children and young people to participate in a wide range of activities appropriate to their age and stage of development.
- Assist children and young people in their personal and social development to encourage growth in self-esteem, confidence, and help them learn from their experiences.
- Help children and young people participate in the life of the unit/group to express their views and play an active part in the planning and management of their activities.
- Help children and young people to gain a greater understanding and respect for diversity by engaging in programmes that reflect the principles of equality, diversity, and interdependence.
- always Promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people, especially the disadvantaged and to unearth the talents and skills of individuals for self-development.
OUR STORY
2013
Three young Gambian friends with the passion to make a difference in the lives of children and young people in The Gambia started a charity. That was the birth of Spring of Life Association Gambia (SOLAG).
2014
Spring of Life Association Gambia (SOLAG) was officially registered as a charity in The Gambia. (Charity no: 2014/C546)
2015
A run-down building was rented and transformed into a school and the result was, Spring of Life School in Sinchu Alagie, The Gambia. The school started with six children and one teacher.
2016
Onside Soccer Gambia, a project aimed at mentoring young people through sports started with a few kids and today over 80 young people benefit.
2017
Spring of Life School grew to over 50 children. The rapid growth is attributed to the quality and affordability of education at the school.
2018
Spring of Life School held its first-ever graduation ceremony for the children graduating from our nursery school.
2019
A makeshift classroom was built to aid the transition into primary school cycle as well as to meet the increasing demand for enrolment.
2020
In 2015, the number of children at Spring of Life School was 6 but today, that number is 160. Due to this growth, another classroom extension was built.

Lives We've Touhed
We currently provide affordable quality education to children and young people in The Gambia.
Onside United coaches spent over 3360 contact hours with the young people.
Over half of the children at Spring of Life School have partial or full scholarships.
Spring of Life School has invested over 75 months of academic contact with children since 2015.
Over 100 boys and girls are benefiting from mentorship through sports at Onside United.
Over a thousand children benefited from education through Spring of Life School since 2015.
